Warm up, stretching and training

  1. Do you do static stretching? I never joined my class when we did static stretching (stretches where you hold the position for 15-25 secs). Every fitness magazine I’ve read says that static stretching weakens the muscles for about 15 minutes and leaves the muscle susceptible to injury in that time. Thus, it is better to stretch after the workout or well before.
